Every Bagel Shop Has a Vibe - Ours Has a Mascot.
In a city filled with pigeons, it takes a very special bird to stand out. That’s where Clinton comes in.
Perched proudly on our storefront, printed on our merch, and occasionally found peeking around corners in the shop – Clinton isn’t just a pigeon. He’s a Brooklyn icon. A symbol of everything Myrtle Ave. Bagels stands for: community, charm, and showing up with just the right amount of sass.
But First - Why a Pigeon?
Because nothing says Brooklyn quite like pigeons do.
They’re on every stoop, every bodega awning, every subway platform. They’re gritty, streetwise, and strangely confident - much like the borough itself. But Clinton? He’s different. He’s clean (we promise). He’s got swagger. And he’s got heart.
He’s the unofficial mayor of Myrtle Avenue - always watching, always involved, and always in the middle of the action (or the bagels).
A Mascot That Means More Than Just a Logo
When Frankie and Prince created Myrtle Ave. Bagels, they wanted more than a good name and a great menu. They wanted personality. Something memorable. Something us.
Clinton was born from that spirit — a little unexpected, a little scrappy, and totally unforgettable.
He’s on the T-shirts our team wears. He’s featured on our in-store signage. He even has his own emoji on our chalkboard menu (yes, really). Kids love him, locals recognize him, and first-timers always ask, “What’s with the pigeon?”
Here’s the Thing: Clinton Represents All of Us.
He’s local. He’s loyal. He’s always around, even when you’re not expecting him. He knows the block, the regulars, and where the best bagel crumbs fall.
And in a neighborhood like Clinton Hill — where neighbors still say good morning, small businesses lift each other up, and bagels are part of the daily rhythm — Clinton fits right in.
Want to Meet Him?
He’s here every day, rain or shine. Just look around — he’s probably on the counter, hiding in a mural, or smiling from a coffee cup sleeve.
Clinton reminds us not to take things too seriously. That even a humble bagel shop can have a mascot. That breakfast can be fun. That community can be playful and meaningful at the same time.
So yeah, we’ve got the best bagels in the neighborhood. But we’ve also got Clinton. And if you ask us? That’s what makes us truly Brooklyn.
